Commissioned by Towner

Sheridan Quigley (Project Lead Artist) and Silke Savran worked with five groups to come up with designs for pavement vinyls, or 'big stickers' as they were affectionately called, which guided visitors and local people to the gallery.  The designs were inspired by artist William Gear whose work was being showcased in an exhibition at Towner during summer 2015. Bunting was also produced with five designs, one from each group, being reduced in size to hang as a colourful display in the Urban Ground café in the gallery.

A ‘pop up arts studio’ was created inside a marquee on Seaside Recreation Ground where public art workshops were held to coincide with the opening of the William Gear exhibition. Artists Sheila Hay and Sally Colledge led the workshops and designed and constructed the Finding Your Way installation which showcased work produced by participants.  The work was hung from the ‘balloon cloud’ in a public installation at Towner Art Gallery for a week after the workshop.

The project was part of the Driving Devonshire Forward initiative funded by the Coastal Communities Fund managed by Eastbourne Council and Eastbourne Homes Limited and also funded by Devonshire West Big Local.  It was also supported by Southern Railways
